Just as I was happy to report no terrible pregnancy symptoms, I get hit with this weird slightly nauseous feeling all day long. Nothing bad enough to send me to the toilet, but it's getting annoying! So that's a bummer. Tomorrow makes 8 weeks. That's almost 2 months! I am really looking forward to hearing his or her heartbeat. I go in for my first prenatal visit in two more weeks. C.T. will come with me so he can hear it too and ask all his questions - which I'll be glad about because he's wonderfully protective, but I think he worries.
I was also miserable with allergies. I've heard that about 1/3 of pregnant women experience less allergy symptoms. Guess I'm in the majority. They were getting pretty bad, so with an okay from the doctor I'm now on Claritin and feeling soo much better.
We're planning on telling our families this weekend. We'll wait to tell friends for another couple weeks until we hear the heartbeat and know that everything is okay. I've been trying to think of cute, creative ways to tell the parents though. I found a onesie that says "I <3 Grandpa" which I think is adorable and I'm keeping it regardless. Then we have another onesie that's pink and says "I love my Grandma and Grandpa". We could either wrap those up and give them as gifts, or write them a card that says "Dear Grandma and Grandpa (or Aunt Kayla), I can't wait to meet you in April! Love, Baby Hammond". Or we could get them a picture frame that says Grandma on it.
Which this got me thinking about what the baby will call his/her grandparents. I think my mom would like Nana, which I love. I don't know how my dad feels about Papa, but that would be cute. I'm guessing C.T.'s mom will like good old fashioned Grandma. This baby will be the first grandchild on both sides - he/she'll be so loved! And probably spoiled! :)
Coming up: A lot! Labor day weekend - supposed to have beautiful 70's weather - in Minnesota, maybe at the cabin. We'll going to spill the beans to the whole family! The Hawkeye's first game is Saturday morning. Monday is CT's fantasy draft and we'll share the news with his mom and brothers. Lot's to look forward to!
